Had the world’s busiest weekend – had practice w/ two different bands, worked door at two shows (including a super rad Rock Camp for Girls fundraiser), saw Ultrathin play a killer gig at 3am, put up some houseguests visiting from Ottawa, meetings, mad apartment-cleaning, etc etc etc. ‘Tis the season in Montreal: Mutek ended just in time for Suoni to begin, and there’s no end in sight. It’s a good time to be living in this city.

Moskos and Anderson do If You Got Ears

Tune in to If You Got Ears today from 12-2pm to catch an hour long set by Alex Moskos (Drainolith, AIDS Wolf), followed by an hour by Shaun Anderson (Ultrathin, Psychic Handshake Recordings). Moskos’ band AIDS Wolf are calling it quits since forming in 2003 and will be playing their last show in Montreal this coming Saturday, May 5th at Casa del Popolo along with Souffle and David Lafrance.

I always thought that if smoked meat could make music it would sound like a fat man’s tears. Turns out it’s much sexier than that thanks to resident beat artist John Constantinides, aka Smoked Meat Fax Machine. Check him out tonight at Casa del Popolo with fellow electronic lettuce haters Miramichi, and  Motem.   Doors 8:30 pm.  $?

You can always count on Club Lambi and its classy post Bar Mitzvah party interior to put on a decent show on a Friday night. This Friday is no exception with a night of indielectro lined up courtesy of Memory Tapes. Enjoy a Shirley Temple or two, and Mazel Tov on making the right choice on this one, kids. It’s all part of growing up.
