CKUT TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE CHARTS::: December 9, 2014

Hi friends,

It’s exam season at McGill and that means that therapy dogs are hanging out on campus, bringing joy to stressed-out students (and animal-loving CKUT staff). Here’s a photo of me and my new pal Daisy hanging out at lunch today — isn’t she cute?

These are our second to last charts for 2014 — the music department will be running full steam until Dec. 19th, so keep an eye out for next week’s charts and feel free to get in touch if you have any records to catch up on before the break.

The BG crew is back in the studio today 3-5pm hosting The Montreal Sessions in style. On today’s show, listen out for a live set from Antoine93, who just released a new tune, Weijia Quarterly ticket give away and a rippin’ set by DJ Mason.

About the label: Banko Gotiti is a new artist-run label in Montreal, Canada. Named for a small co-op weigh station in Southern Ethiopia where farmers bring their crop for processing and distribution, the label was founded on the same idea: exporting the output of a fertile community to a global audience. Banko Gotiti’s roster includes NONI WO, Vesuvio Solo, Pat Jordache andThe Group Sound.
