Dans La Rue’s “Inspire,” compilation of Quebec artists & youth

There are 10-15,000 homeless people in Montreal. While CKUT already does a bunch to raise consciousness of our city’s homelessness (including a partnership with local organization Dans La Rue), we’re always looking for other ways to ignite the dialogue about our homeless population (in addition to our love of weird music). What’s that? Did you say there’s a musical compilation of Quebec artists and street kids working together in support of Montreal’s street youth? That sounds like the ultimate match for CKUT!

Dans La Rue, a local community-based organization dedicated to supporting street kids and at-risk youth aged 12-25, will be launching their first album Inspire this summer. They invite the media to join them on Thursday, May 30 to the album launch for “Inspire” at 5pm at Studios de Rouen.

CKUT started their partnership with Dans La Rue through Radio CKUT @ Chez Pops which includes the Annual Homelessness Marathon each February (recap from this year’s event here and here). We love all the work that they do and want to spread the word as much as possible!

Better yet, CKUT just got “Inspire” from one of our friends at Dans La Rue! You will be able to hear tracks from the album very soon!
