Had a fascinating chat with Michel Levasseur, the artistic director of Victoriaville, Quebec’s most notable avant garde music festival, FIMAV (which will be happening from May 16-19th).

We also touched briefly on the CKUT 25th Anniversary party happening this Saturday over at La Sala Rossa (more info here), definitely not to be missed if you feel like cake and good tunes.

CKUT’s Morning After Series, Live From The Streets

… and by streets, we mean some of Montreal’s most beloved cafes and parks. This week we’re celebrating 25 years of amazing morning programming, and what better way than to take the radio magic out into the world? Broadcasts will feature special CKUT alumni, musical guests, and lots of other goodies. Tune in live, or better yet, come join us on the terrace and be a part of the fun!

Monday, May 6 at Cafe l’Artere (7000 Parc Ave) with guest Rufo Valencia, former Spoken Word coordinator and beloved host of Latin Music Mondays.

Tuesday, May 7 at Cafe Blanc de Blanc (248 Villeneuve O) with guests Sheldon Harvey, host of International Radio Report and Stephan Christoff. Music provided by the infamous FemmeMaggots

Wednesday, May 8 in Parc LaFontaine with Janice Dayle, longtime host of Bhum Bhum Time

Thursday, May 9 at Cafe Touski (2561 Ontario E) with guest Raymond Laurent, host of Samedi Midi, the Haitian community show heard every Saturday morning since 1988!
