total eclipse of the charts

total eclipse of the charts

Spring is finally sprung in Montreal – hopefully for real this time – and I’ve been doing the usual seasonal overhaul of scissoring all my jeans into cutoffs and recklessly cutting my own hair. I also caught a super rad show on the weekend w/ TO pals Get Out, Einar Jullum, and Loosestrife: all totally killer and worthy of your ears if you are searching for some new summery jams. If you have fave local summertime tunes from your city, send ’em my way – I’m on the hunt..

Today’s Montreal Sessions: dancehall, film chat, and the Vice take on Mtl

The SPRING FEVER edition of the Montreal Sessions, curated by Malcolm of the World Provider, keeps rolling this afternoon with a doozy of a show.¬†Today’s guests include¬†DJ Tamika (Royal Phoneix and NDQ resident, spinning some dancehall and lady rap), filmmaker Kara Blake (whose new film Derby & Groma is premiering at Hot Docs at the end of the week), and comedian/writer/VICE prankster Kara Crabb, who’ll be phoning in from her hometown of Windsor to speak authoritatively as an ex-Montrealer. Wanna hear all this + more? Tune in from 3-5pm or catch it after the fact on CKUT’s archives.
