CKUT TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE CHARTS: October 30, 2012

Tim Beeler of Isle of Pine

Oh man oh man, funding drive is in full swing here and the station is hopping! Just check out that shot of local artist (and CKUT-er) Isle of Pine from a live improvised set that happened yesterday on New Shit, the CKUT music dept’s weekly show. In the other half of the studio, former music coordinator AJ Cornell was blasting away on an accordion and processing sounds from contact mics taped in & around the studios. And that’s just a peek at the special programming we’re featuring this week in honour of funding drive — it’s only getting wilder and more awesome from here on in.

Hope all NYC friends are staying safe out there!

CKUT TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE CHARTS: October 23, 2012

Hi radio,
I’m back from another whirlwind trip to New York for CMJ, feeling inspired and psyched on radio. Got to hang with lots of old pals, met some great new friends, and saw too many shows to recall. Thanks to all who came out to catch the DIY For All Sizes panel — it was pretty amazing to see so many folks in the audience and to hear their radio stories. I’m battling the inevitable post-fest cold now, but it was 100% worth it.
Outta the past, onto the future – FUNDING DRIVE kicks off on Thursday and we couldn’t be more excited. CKUT will be all over the streets of Montreal for the next two weeks, putting on tons of events and giving away amazing prizes to raise the money that will keep us on air for another year. Check out our Funding Drive page for more info, and if you really need any more reason to show yr support, just check out these kittens. They know where it’s at.
